Old old Digimon drabbles

He held out a hand when she slipped, and smiled in the way he smiled at everybody (somewhere between mischievious and understanding, confident but unquestionably well-meaning). His grip was stronger than she expected, but she noticed was that his hand was warm.
He pulled a little too hard, and grinned even wider. And then he winked before turning, and like somebody had turned a switch, she realized that he was a boy.
She remained standing, and stared at his back - and as she rememberd the way he had looked into her eyes, she understood that she was a girl.

A birthday present, he says when people asks, and that's true enough. It was, after all, given him on his birthday, because Takato can't for the life of him remember any dates relating to them.
He hadn't made any promises, but it keeps Henry reminded about why it is there, and that makes him smile to himself.
He wears it on the right hand, middle finger, nothing remarkable for those who takes notice. Until the day he feels ready to tell anybody that the ring he never takes off was given him by another boy, by Takato, it won't change..

Falling is a poor excuse for flight. Unlike her brother, Chika learned her lesson; a woman’s place is to lecture the men as they come home in tatters. But fighting isn’t always just for fighting, and a fall will have to do for those who don’t have wings. She’s afraid of heights, too, but demands that he comes back for her; her brother never hesitates, so she doesn’t, either. She waited for his sake, but goes after them for her own - when Ikuto reaches out a hand from Yatagaramon’s back, she smiles as she closes her eyes and jumps.

(This was written some time before the series ended, and is not entirely compatible with canon)
